Who better to judge candidates' technique and talent than Yoann Conte?
He's putting his expertise at the disposal of the young recruits to this iconic culinary series by joining the team of jurors alongside Philippe Etchebest and Juan Arbeláez, for the 2023 season. As usual, he'll be outspoken and kind-hearted in guiding the contestants. For this ninth edition, the Michelin-starred chefs opt for blind tastings, forcing the contestants to distinguish themselves through their technical skills. It's only at the ultimate national final that chefs Philippe Etchebest, Yoann Conte and Juan Arbeláez will reveal the overall winner, who will join the ranks of France's top chefs!

On November 29, 2021, the Gault & Millau award ceremony was held at the Pavillon d'Armenonville in Paris. The evening spotlighted a host of talented chefs, pastry chefs and sommeliers. Our chef Yoann Conte was awarded 5 Toques Gault et Millau with a score of 19/20! He joins the prestigious circle of 16 exceptional French restaurants. A magnificent reward for Yoann, who works daily with talent to prepare our Baouw recipes.

“At the time, I was a trail runner and I ran the UTMB, I had bought a disgusting brand that I won't name. After a while, my palate was over-saturated with sweet tastes. It was really too chemical for me, and really, after a while, I was disgusted by the sweet taste. As a consumer, as a sportsman, I didn't have much to eat. So when I was offered a job in sports nutrition, I said yes straight away. In fact, I did even more than that! I invested right away in the adventure. What I'd tried up to that point, as sports nutrition, might have given you a boost, yes, as it promised, but behind it, you were immediately bamboozled, because it was a poorly managed, badly calibrated energy.I was very honored to have been chosen for the Baouw project, to tell the truth. I don't even really know why it was me. Perhaps at the time I had a certain humility that appealed? In any case, I jumped right in and, in fact, my wife Élodie and I made a financial investment in the creation of the Baouw brand, because the project really interested me. Adventure! There's a lot of fun in this Baouw adventure. It got me out of the kitchen a bit. The “Go out and play” message worked for me. I myself needed to eat properly, healthily, when exerting myself. I'm proud to be wearing a brand like this today. Now I finally have something interesting to offer as a consumer.”
