The word virus has been on everyone's lips for the last few months (figuratively speaking, don't worry!), following the arrival of the coronavirus. Here are some tips from Benoît Nave, our nutritionist, on how to protect yourself from viral infections. You can use these solutions for long-term inspiration. They're all natural and plant-based. ps (useful precaution): these tips are not intended to cure anyone carrying Covid-19. It's all about prevention (boosting the immune system). - Tip number 1 for boosting your immunity 🍋
First tip: in the morning, on an empty stomach, drink lemon juice in a little water with grated turmeric and ginger (lukewarm water, as much as possible, so as not to destroy the precious micronutrients). Lemon promotes acid-base balance. Turmeric and ginger have proven their effectiveness in modulating inflammation.

Eat foods rich in vitamin D. Small oily fish, especially sardines with their bones.
- Tip number 3 to boost your immunity
Tip against viruses of all kinds: EPS, phytostandard plant extract, Cypress-Echinacea glycerine macerate every day. ‘Cypress is a highly effective virucide,’ explains Benoît Nave, our nutritionist. ‘Echinacea will boost the immune system so that it can defend itself against viruses of all kinds. One teaspoon a day in a little water for an adult (prevention), including our elders... In pharmacies... For a toddler, half a teaspoon can be given (up to 10 kg body weight, then adult dose) according to the recommendations of your favourite pharmacy.
Tip number 4 to boost your immunity
‘You can supplement with Curcuma EPS, a powerful anti-inflammatory. The less inflammatory we are, the less fragile we are. The less viruses (or any other bacteria) will have a hold on our body.’ ‘Sport is an excellent way of boosting immunity and fighting viruses, so get out there and play!’ advises nutritionist Benoît Nave.

- Tip number 6 for boosting your immunity
Boost your immunity through outdoor physical activity. Just get some fresh air around your home. ‘Doing sport strengthens our immune system, which defends itself against viruses,’ recommends Benoît. ’Staying still and doing something gentle, too. It's good for the parasympathetic system, which recharges its batteries. Which is very good for our immunity. So it's very good for protecting yourself from viruses.’
Tip number 7 for boosting your immunity
Try a course of foods rich in vitamin B9 (folates), particularly nuts, almonds, hazelnuts, etc. Folates help lymphocytes to survive. Zinc effectively boosts the immune response (multiplication of lymphocytes) Zinc boosts the clonal reaction: it facilitates the multiplication of immune cells. It is found in pumpkin seeds, for example. Let's not forget: ‘Let your food be your first medicine’, as Hippocrates advised!
